Some preachers claim that in the Hebrew Bible, in Genesis 2:7, it says that Adam was created a "speaking spirit"...
I've looked it up to see if this is true using the concordance on the website Net.Bible, but I found no such thing in the Hebrew.. it says exactly what the English Bible says that Adam was created a living being....

Genesis 2:7

the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

I've checked it in multiple translations including the amplified and still the same thing. So where did these preachers get the idea that it says "speaking spirit" ??....

I (Glenn Ford) totally agree with Blien’s above statement and scriptures. And that Adam was created a living soul and not a “Speaking spirit.” If he was then he must have been created an evil speaking spirit for a Holy speaking spirit would not have sinned. And I'm just saying this because in reality “a spirit hath not flesh and bones.” God is Spirit and He *imparts* His Spirit within us through His Words. His only begotten son Jesus was *given* the Spirit without measure.
“*All* power is *given* unto me in heaven and in earth.”
God Himself is a speaking Spirit, for with God Our Father all things are possible. We on the other hand are souls/flesh that speak. We are giving just measures of Spirit, for instance here’s one: “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
It is said and it is also true that we *have* an evil spirit when we are disobedient, not that we are one; not holding onto God’s Words, but thinking just the opposite for whatever reason. Repentance would resolve this though.
“Ye are God’s,” “created in the image and likeness of God.” This is His potential for you if you accept and become one with Him through believing in Him. Created in His image if He would become flesh; hence: Jesus Christ. And as for as His likeness: He is the creator of all things and just like Him we have desires to create many things also just like Him, just not as grand.
To sum this up man was created a living soul/flesh and as Jesus stated when He resurrected and was among His disciples: “BEHOLD MY HANDS AND MY FEET, THAT IT IS I MYSELF: HANDLE ME, AND SEE; FOR A SPIRIT HATH NOT FLESH AND BONES, AS YOU SEE ME HAVE.”
*With that I can’t say more.*
