 All Aboard

Remember Curtis Mayfield’s song “People Get Ready” (1965) saying there’s a train coming and you didn’t need no baggage nor ticket, you just get on board; you just thank the Lord? I was only 12 then and I am now as of this date  (6-14-2023) 70, so I know a lot of you probably can’t recall it, and on the other hand there are a lot of you who remember it quite well; but most at one time or another have heard it being played on the radio. My point is that the song suggests that everyone should get on board and that’s directed to “Christians” and I quote, not the “hopeless sinner” unbelievers.

Are we on board? Lets check.
*And he said unto them, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned” { Mark 16:15-16 (KJV). }

First lets put to rest that this is not a “water baptism” but rather an acceptance of the Holyspirit.
John the Baptist said:
“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire { Matthew 3:11-13 (KJV). }

So are we filled with the Holyspirit (the teachings of Jesus) and if so then we should be by any means necessary, internet, television, radio, one on one, teaching others, no excuses. On the other hand we could be supporting a minister of the Word and that’s just as good if that minister is seriously following Jesus. Problem with that is how are you going to really know if you haven’t had a full relationship with Jesus yourself?

In this case (your life) you actually have to be qualified yourself first before letting someone else represent you. When Jesus said “Go Ye into all the world...” He was talking to YOU and them! I’m bringing this up because to be “on board” it’s a must that we have a full relationship with our Lord and Savior. And He doesn’t put that in anyone’s hands but yours. Yes the Word has been pass down and around, but who’s really behind it all? He is! Jesus is God and He said “...upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
TRUST! trust is faith. The song “People get ready” suggest further that all you need is faith in Jesus cause without faith in Him you are truly going to miss the train.
Ministers main objective is to inform everyone that there is a God and that the way to Him is through Jesus Christ. Understand that ministers can quote our Lord or misquote our Lord, but it’s your responsibility to talk to God yourself, before going forth or supporting anyone else . I put myself in check daily making sure I’m “about my Father’s business.” So a few old words of advice is: “save yourself first” to guaranteed your place on board. Oh yeah! It’s a must. Are you “ON BOARD?” There’s plenty space!
